Case Study: SEO Traffic Decline & Recovery Plan

A brand-new travel and tourism project in the UAE came to me with big ambitions but zero digital presence. They were entering a saturated market travel and tourism where established brands dominated search results. They had a beautiful website, exciting travel packages, and passionate founders, but no one could find them online.
Their goal was clear: get visible fast, attract travelers, and start generating bookings. But with no existing traffic, no backlinks, and no content strategy, we were starting from absolute zero.
Time was critical, so I focused on high-impact SEO tactics that could deliver results quickly without compromising long-term sustainability.
I began with location-based keyword research. Since they were targeting travelers interested in UAE experiences, I identified keywords around popular destinations, travel activities, visa services, tour packages, and seasonal tourism trends. I looked for keywords with decent search volume but lower competition opportunities where we could rank faster.
Next, I optimized their existing website pages. I rewrote service pages to include targeted keywords naturally, created compelling meta titles and descriptions that would attract clicks, and ensured every page had clear calls-to-action for bookings and inquiries.
Then I focused on content creation. I developed blog posts and destination guides covering topics like “best places to visit in Dubai,” “affordable UAE travel packages,” “visa guide for tourists,” and seasonal travel tips. Each piece was optimized for SEO but written to genuinely help travelers plan their trips.
I also optimized their Google My Business profile to capture local search traffic and tourism-related queries. This helped them appear in map results and local packs when people searched for travel services in the UAE.
To accelerate visibility, I built strategic backlinks from travel blogs, tourism directories, and UAE-focused websites. I also encouraged them to collaborate with local influencers and travel communities to build brand awareness alongside SEO efforts.
Throughout the process, I monitored keyword rankings and traffic growth weekly. I adjusted the strategy based on what was working doubling down on high-performing content topics and refining pages that weren’t gaining traction yet.
In just 4 months, the website reached 1,000 monthly visitors an impressive achievement for a brand-new project in a competitive industry. Several key service pages and blog posts started ranking on the first page of Google. They began receiving inquiries and bookings directly from organic search.
More importantly, they now had a strong content foundation and SEO momentum that would continue to grow over time.
